A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the May shooting death of Willie Satterfield in Henderson.
According to the Henderson Police Department, 21-year-old Rodriekgus Johnson was taken into custody Tuesday at a residence on Foxfire Drive in Vance County with assistance from the United States Marshals Service and the Vance County Sheriff’s Office.
Satterfield was found suffering from gunshot wounds on Lamb Street around 9 p.m. on May 9 and was transported to a hospital, where he later died.
Johnson faces charges of first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury, and two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon. Police also stated that Johnson was listed as an absconder from the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction due to a probation violation.
He is currently being held in the Vance County Detention Center without bond.
Johnson is the second person charged in the case. Authorities previously arrested 18-year-old Jamari Speed on May 29 in connection with Satterfield’s death. The investigation remains ongoing.
