ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Police Department has confirmed that Majesty Montgomery, 29, who was reported missing by her family on May 7, has been found deceased, and her death is being investigated as a homicide.
According to investigators, Montgomery’s body was discovered buried on a large property in Yates County following an extensive search and investigation. Authorities believe, however, that the killing occurred at a residence on Austin Street in the City of Rochester before her body was transported and concealed.
Police have not released details regarding how Montgomery died or what evidence led investigators to the Austin Street location. Detectives continue to process evidence and interview potential witnesses as they work to establish the full timeline of events leading up to her death.
The discovery has brought a heartbreaking end to weeks of uncertainty for Montgomery’s family and loved ones, who had been searching for answers since her disappearance was reported earlier this month.
The Rochester Police Department emphasized that the investigation remains active and ongoing. At this time, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about Montgomery’s disappearance or death to come forward and assist with the case.
As detectives continue to pursue leads, family members and community supporters are mourning the loss of a young woman whose life was tragically cut short.
Additional information is expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
