31-year-old Masuma Sohrabi, an Iranian mother-of-two who reportedly escaped the hardships of life under the Iranian regime in search of safety and hope, was tragically found dead in Galway on Thursday morning.
Masuma had been staying in IPAS accommodation and was working at a local hotel while trying to build a new life in Ireland. Concern grew after staff members were unable to locate her, leading to the heartbreaking discovery near the river at Waterloo Bridge on the Galway Road.
Reports say she suffered catastrophic neck injuries.
Originally from Tehran, Masuma had come to Ireland hoping for peace, stability, and a brighter future for her children — a dream that has now ended in tragedy.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
