27-YEAR-OLD WOMAN REMANDED IN CUSTODY AFTER DEATHS OF HER TWO SONS

A 27-year-old woman has appeared before the Tshilwavhusiku Magistrate’s Court in connection with the deaths of her two young sons in Limpopo.

Thelma Siphugu Ntanganedzeni appeared in court on June 5, 2026, and was remanded in police custody. The matter was postponed to June 12 for a bail application and further police investigations.

The case stems from two tragic incidents reported on June 2.

According to police, officers were first called to the Tshilwavhusiku Health Centre after receiving reports of a child suspected of having been poisoned. Upon arrival, they found the lifeless body of a six-year-old boy. Preliminary information indicated that the child had been taken to the clinic after experiencing stomach pains, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Later that same day, police received a report concerning a missing eight-year-old boy. Following a search, the child was found deceased at his home in Madabani village. Emergency medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators determined that the two boys were brothers and began an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding their deaths. The investigation subsequently led to the arrest of their mother on June 3.

Authorities have opened a murder case, and a forensic pathology postmortem examination is expected to determine the exact cause of death.

As legal proceedings continue, police have emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing and that all facts surrounding the case are still being examined.

🕊️ Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family, loved ones, classmates, and community members affected by the tragic loss of these two young children.
