💔 GRADE 11 LEARNER FOUND DEAD AFTER GOING MISSING IN HOUT BAY

The Hout Bay community continues to mourn the tragic loss of Amina Swano, a 17-year-old Grade 11 learner at Hout Bay High School whose disappearance ended in heartbreak.

According to reports, Amina was last seen on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2026, as she made her way to a nearby music event in the Hout Bay area. When she failed to return home, her family became concerned and reported her missing.

Shortly afterward, the decomposed body of a young girl was discovered inside a box near a block of flats in the Hangberg area of Hout Bay. Weeks later, DNA testing confirmed the remains were those of Amina.

The devastating confirmation sent shockwaves through her family, school, and the wider community.

Authorities later arrested three individuals known to the family in connection with the case. The suspects—two men aged 36 and 49 and a 59-year-old woman appeared in court on murder charges as the investigation moved forward.

Amina’s mother has spoken publicly about her grief and the lasting impact of the tragedy, while also raising concerns about dangers facing young people in the community.

As loved ones continue to seek justice, classmates, teachers, friends, and residents are remembering Amina as a young life taken far too soon.

🕊️ Our deepest condolences go out to Amina Swano’s family, friends, fellow students, educators, and the entire Hout Bay community. May her memory never be forgotten.
