Armed and Dangerous Suspect Wanted After Fatal Shooting in Meade County
Kentucky State Police are searching for Scott Hornback, 45, of Irvington, after a woman was found fatally shot inside a Meade County home on Monday morning. Authorities warn that Hornback should be considered armed and dangerous and urge the public not to approach him.
According to investigators, the Meade County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting in the Simpson Lane area of the Ekron community around 11:43 a.m. on November 3, 2025. When deputies arrived, they discovered 55-year-old Mary Case deceased from a gunshot wound inside the residence.
Troopers quickly identified Hornback as the alleged suspect in the deadly shooting. He reportedly fled the scene before law enforcement arrived and remains on the run.
Hornback is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. Authorities have not yet released details about the motive or the relationship between Hornback and the victim.

Officials are urging area residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity as the manhunt continues.
