🚨💔 UPDATE: Additional Charges Filed in Death of 7-Month-Old Kiyomi Parker
A heartbreaking update has emerged in the tragic death of 7-month-old Kiyomi Parker, the infant who was fatally shot inside a home in Baden, Missouri.
Authorities have announced additional charges against 19-year-old Ca’Marion Pawnell. He is now charged with Second-Degree Murder, Endangering the Welfare of a Child Resulting in Death, and two counts of First-Degree Child Endangerment.
According to investigators, Pawnell admitted to keeping a handgun under his mattress. Detectives allege that a 10-year-old boy inside the home knew where the firearm was located and had access to it for an extended period of time.
Police say the child allegedly picked up the gun and shot baby Kiyomi in the head. Despite desperate life-saving efforts by first responders and medical personnel, the infant was pronounced dead.
In a shocking development, the 10-year-old boy has been charged through Juvenile Court with First-Degree Murder. Due to his age, authorities have not released his identity.
Officials also confirmed that another child, age 7, was inside the home when the tragedy unfolded.
As the investigation continues, the case has sparked widespread grief and renewed conversations about firearm safety, child access to weapons, and accountability.
Most heartbreaking of all is the loss of little Kiyomi, a baby whose life had only just begun. She leaves behind a devastated mother, family members, and loved ones now forced to navigate an unimaginable loss.
🕊️ Rest in peace, Kiyomi Parker.
Please keep her family in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time. 💔
