🚨 TRIPLE FATAL CRASH UNDER INVESTIGATION IN PIKE COUNTY
A tragic crash in Pike County has claimed three lives and remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
According to authorities, troopers from the Portsmouth Post responded at approximately 1:56 p.m. on Monday to a serious two-vehicle collision at the intersection of State Route 32 and Coal Dock Road in Union Township.
Preliminary findings indicate that a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by Hannah N. Howard, 30, of Beaver, was traveling north on Coal Dock Road. At the same time, a 2009 Kenworth T800 tractor-trailer pulling an empty logging trailer, operated by Chance E. Rodgers, 27, of Bainbridge, was traveling west on State Route 32.
Investigators say the Chevrolet attempted to continue north across State Route 32 but allegedly failed to yield the right-of-way. The SUV was then struck by the oncoming tractor-trailer.
The impact resulted in a devastating crash that claimed three lives.
Emergency responders from multiple agencies rushed to the scene, where efforts were made to assist those involved. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and are working to determine all contributing factors.
The tragedy has left families, friends, and the surrounding communities mourning an unimaginable loss.
