Woman Shot at During Road Rage Shooting Near Reservoir in Rankin County
A woman narrowly escaped injury after being shot at in what authorities believe was a road rage incident near the Ross Barnett Reservoir on Sunday night.
According to the Reservoir Police Department, the shooting occurred around 9:07 p.m. at the intersection of Spillway Road, North Shore Parkway, and Old Fannin Road. The woman, driving westbound on Spillway Road, noticed a vehicle following closely behind her. When she stopped at a red light, the suspect vehicle pulled up next to her, and the driver began firing shots at the victim.
Although the woman was not struck by any bullets, she did sustain minor injuries from shattered glass from the gunfire. She was not seriously harmed and is currently receiving medical attention for the cuts caused by the glass.
The suspect is described as a white male driving a white pickup truck, possibly a Toyota Tacoma.
The Reservoir Police are asking anyone with information about the suspect or incident to come forward. Residents in the area are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
