West Allis Woman Charged in Crash That Killed Two Marquette Students
MILWAUKEE — A West Allis woman is facing serious charges after a devastating crash that claimed the lives of two Marquette University students on Friday, September 5, near 27th Street and St. Paul Avenue.
Court records show 41-year-old Amandria Brunner has been charged with two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle. She appeared in court Wednesday, where her bond was set at $75,000.
The victims, Scott Michaud and Noah Snyder, were both members of Marquette’s lacrosse team. They were seated in the back of a Jeep involved in the collision and tragically died at the scene from blunt force injuries. Four others, including teammates, were injured but are expected to recover.
According to a criminal complaint, Brunner accelerated into the intersection after waiting in the left turn lane. Data later revealed she did not brake before impact. Investigators said her blood alcohol content was 0.133, well above the legal limit. An open can of beer and marijuana paraphernalia were also found in her vehicle.
Brunner has a prior conviction for operating while intoxicated from 2003.
Marquette University is offering counseling and pastoral support to students, faculty, and staff. Students can reach the counseling center at 414-288-7172, while employees and their families can access the Employee Assistance Program at 1-800-634-6433.
“This is an extremely tragic case,” said Court Commissioner Andrea Bolender, stressing that a moment’s delay could have prevented the crash.
The case remains under investigation as the Marquette community grieves this heartbreaking loss.
