Video Captures Moment Charlie Kirk Shot at Utah Valley University
OREM, Utah — Disturbing footage posted online shows the moment conservative activist Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was shot during a public event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday afternoon.
Police confirmed that a single round was fired, striking the 31-year-old speaker as he addressed attendees. Emergency crews rushed to his aid, and he was transported for medical treatment. His exact condition has not yet been made public.
Shortly after the incident, the university issued a campus alert confirming that a suspect was taken into custody without further violence. Officials stressed that there is no continuing threat to students, faculty, or staff.
The shooting immediately drew widespread attention. Utah Senator Mike Lee posted on social media that he was monitoring the situation and urged prayers for Kirk and the students present. Vice President JD Vance also called for support, describing Kirk as “a genuinely good guy and a young father.”
