Tragedy in Baxter County: Baby’s Death Leads to Murder Charges
In Mountain Home, Arkansas, a devastating case has shaken the community to its core. Authorities confirmed that Terra Thompson has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a baby under her care.
The Incident
On August 29, investigators noticed visible bruising on the side of the infant’s face. The baby was rushed to Baxter Health and later transferred to a hospital in Little Rock, where doctors diagnosed a brain bleed.
According to investigators, Thompson admitted to violently slamming the baby onto the living room floor, striking the child, and then attempting to conceal the injuries with makeup. Despite emergency efforts, the baby died the following day in the Little Rock hospital.
