Surveillance Video Shows Possible Suspect Limping Toward UVU Campus Before Charlie Kirk Shooting
OREM, Utah — Federal investigators have obtained surveillance footage they consider crucial in the probe of the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University (UVU).
According to the FBI, neighborhood cameras captured a man dressed entirely in black walking toward the UVU campus shortly before the shooting. The footage, timestamped 11:49 a.m. Wednesday, shows the individual moving along a residential street with a pronounced limp. Officials believe the irregular gait may have been caused by a firearm concealed under his clothing.
Just three minutes later, at 11:52 a.m., the suspect arrived on the UVU campus, where Kirk was shot. Investigators later recovered a Mauser .30-06 bolt-action rifle at the scene, believed to be the weapon used in the attack.
Additional video recorded moments after the shooting shows students evacuating along a paved road. In the background, another figure dressed in black is seen running through a backyard. Authorities are analyzing the footage to determine if it depicts the same man seen earlier.
The FBI confirmed agents canvassed surrounding neighborhoods extensively, collecting video from residents and local businesses. Those recordings are now being reviewed as part of the manhunt for the gunman.
Federal officials continue to urge the public to provide any relevant information or additional footage that could assist investigators, stressing that these materials are critical to identifying and locating the suspect.
