Washington, D.C. — September 4, 2025

Juan “Raymond” Harper, better known to millions online as Rolling Ray, has died at the age of 28, just days before his 29th birthday.

The social media star’s death was confirmed Wednesday in a heartfelt Facebook post by his mother.

“It is with a heavy, heavy heart that I let you know that my son Ray Ray (@Iamrollingray) has gone home to be with the Lord,” she wrote. “I thank everyone who has called or texted. This is going to be a long road.”

Ray rose to internet fame with his sharp wit, comedic skits, and viral catchphrases, later appearing on MTV’s Catfish Trolls and the LGBT dating reality show Bobby I Love You, Purrr. Known for his bold personality and humor, he proudly dubbed himself “the most famous boy inna wheelchair.”

Despite his physical challenges, Ray became an inspiration to many. He was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) type 3, a rare genetic condition that causes progressive muscle weakness. According to the NHS, while the disease worsens over time, treatments can help manage symptoms.

Fans across social media are now paying tribute, remembering him as a trailblazer who embraced authenticity, resilience, and joy.

Ray’s legacy lives on through his content, his humor, and the countless lives he touched.
