Fatal Crash on Route 222 Leaves One Dead and Multiple Injured

A fatal crash Monday morning on Route 222 near the Kutztown Road overpass has left one person dead and several others injured.

Fleetwood Police, along with other emergency response teams, were dispatched to the scene just before 11 a.m. on October 27, 2025, following reports of a multi-vehicle accident.

According to Chief Dale Ulshafer of the Fleetwood Police Department, three vehicles were involved in the crash. One of the vehicles had flipped over the bridge, and several passengers were ejected. Tragically, one person was confirmed dead at the scene.

Initial investigations revealed that a vehicle traveling southbound on Route 222 crossed the grassy median and collided with two vehicles traveling in the opposite direction. The southbound vehicle, which suffered the most severe impact, flipped off the overpass, leading to critical injuries and the fatality. The occupants of the other two vehicles sustained minor injuries.

The Berks County Crash Reconstruction Team is handling the ongoing investigation. Police have confirmed that the investigation is still in its early stages, and further details will be released as they become available.

Two Men Charged After Gunfire Erupts at Spartanburg County Hotel, Injuring Three

Authorities in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, have charged two men following a shooting at the Sleep Inn on South Blackstock Road that left three people injured on Saturday night.

According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of gunfire around 10 p.m., where they discovered evidence of an exchange of shots between individuals on the hotel’s second floor. Three people sustained injuries and were transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Officials said one victim has since been released, while two others remain hospitalized in stable but critical condition.

Deputies identified the suspects as Damionn Lesean Thomas and Roland Ajani Collins, both of whom are convicted felons. Thomas and Collins face multiple charges, including possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm into a dwelling, and malicious injury to personal property. Collins faces an additional charge of possession of a stolen firearm.

Authorities confirmed that no other hotel guests were injured, noting that many nearby rooms were vacant at the time of the incident.

The Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains ongoing, with additional charges possible as detectives continue reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses.

Woman Shot at During Road Rage Shooting Near Reservoir in Rankin County

A woman narrowly escaped injury after being shot at in what authorities believe was a road rage incident near the Ross Barnett Reservoir on Sunday night.

According to the Reservoir Police Department, the shooting occurred around 9:07 p.m. at the intersection of Spillway Road, North Shore Parkway, and Old Fannin Road. The woman, driving westbound on Spillway Road, noticed a vehicle following closely behind her. When she stopped at a red light, the suspect vehicle pulled up next to her, and the driver began firing shots at the victim.

Although the woman was not struck by any bullets, she did sustain minor injuries from shattered glass from the gunfire. She was not seriously harmed and is currently receiving medical attention for the cuts caused by the glass.

The suspect is described as a white male driving a white pickup truck, possibly a Toyota Tacoma.

The Reservoir Police are asking anyone with information about the suspect or incident to come forward. Residents in the area are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities.

Jeffers, who was shot in the head, was pronounced dead at the scene. The six injured victims, aged between 20 and 25, are expected to recover from their wounds.

Zecqueous Morgan-Thompson, 21, has been identified as a suspect in the shooting. He was arrested and is currently being held at the Chester County Prison on a $25,000 bail, facing charges of carrying a firearm without a license.
