Missouri Woman Suspected of Killing Husband Found Dead from Possible Overdose
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (Sept. 10, 2025) — Authorities in Jefferson County have announced that a woman suspected of killing her husband was found dead last week in a wooded area.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies discovered Robert Malcom deceased on Aug. 30. Investigators quickly turned their focus to his wife, Stacy Jay-Malcom, as the primary suspect in his death. Officials believe she may have fled the scene and potentially consumed medication after the incident.
On Sept. 7, a property owner alerted law enforcement after coming across Jay-Malcom’s remains in a remote wooded area. Detectives say preliminary evidence points to a possible overdose, though the official cause of death has not yet been determined by the medical examiner.
The sheriff’s office noted that no additional suspects are being sought in connection with the case. “Detectives will continue to review evidence and finalize their investigation, but at this time we do not believe there are any outstanding threats to the community,” the statement read.
The tragic sequence of events leaves behind unanswered questions about what led to Robert Malcom’s death and the circumstances surrounding Stacy Jay-Malcom’s final days.
