Man Critically Injured in Wood Village Shooting, Suspect in Custody
A quiet Monday night in Wood Village was shattered by gunfire that left one man hospitalized and a suspect in custody. The shooting occurred shortly after 10 p.m. on September 8 near the 23700 block of Northeast Halsey Street.
According to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived at the scene and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition. His identity has not yet been released.
Authorities immediately launched a search for the suspect, working in collaboration with Gresham police. The search effort included the deployment of drones and a K9 unit to secure the area.
