Man Arrested After Fatal Shooting in South City St. Louis

ST. LOUIS — Police have arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 32-year-old St. Louis resident early Sunday morning.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. on October 26, 2025, District 3 officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Gasconade following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located Stanley Scott inside a residence, suffering from gunshot wounds. Witnesses at the scene were attempting to provide aid, and officers administered life-saving care until EMS arrived. Scott was transported to a local hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate. Preliminary findings suggest the shooting occurred outside before Scott was found inside the house.

Authorities have charged 51-year-old Donald Jones with First-Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action. The arrest was made following an initial investigation led by the St. Louis Homicide Division in coordination with the Circuit Attorney’s Office.
