Los Angeles Police Search for Suspect in Fatal Hit-and-Run
LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles police are actively searching for 24-year-old Sierra Whittaker, who is suspected of causing a fatal hit-and-run accident that killed 25-year-old Emerson Gonzalez-Escobar.
The tragic crash occurred on July 5, shortly after 9 p.m., at the intersection of 91st Street and South Figueroa. According to authorities, Whittaker was driving a white Porsche Panamera at nearly 100 miles per hour when she struck Gonzalez-Escobar, who was waiting to make a left turn.
Video footage reportedly shows Whittaker and her two passengers retrieving belongings from the vehicle after the collision. Disturbingly, they did not render aid to Gonzalez-Escobar, leaving his family devastated by the circumstances surrounding his death.
LAPD Detective Ryan Moreno stated that Whittaker, who is known to frequent Las Vegas and Orange County, could face a murder charge depending on the outcome of the investigation.
