Lackawanna County Man Dies After Rollover Crash; Dog Reported Missing
CARBONDALE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WNEP) — A 35-year-old Carbondale man has died following a single-vehicle rollover crash on the Casey Highway Thursday evening, according to the Lackawanna County coroner.
The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. on the eastbound side at mile marker 12, near the Meredith Street exit ramp. Authorities said the man was ejected from the vehicle and fatally injured. Despite emergency crews’ quick response, he was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival.
Officials also confirmed a small white Pit Bull puppy, named “Storm,” was traveling with the driver at the time of the crash and is now missing. Witnesses reported seeing the dog on an embankment near the exit ramp shortly after the accident.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Meanwhile, community members are being asked to keep an eye out for Storm in the surrounding area.
