Kansas Highway Patrol Investigates Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Garden City

GARDEN CITY, Kan. — Authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred early Friday morning on U.S. Highway 50 in Garden City.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), the incident happened at approximately 7:00 a.m. on September 5, 2025, near the 4500 block of U.S. Highway 50, close to North Airlinks Drive. An alternate reference for the location is milepost 71 on U.S. Highway 50.

A male pedestrian walking northbound on the highway was struck by a westbound passenger vehicle. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

KHP’s Critical Highway Accident Response Team (CHART) was activated and responded to assist with the investigation.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing, and no additional details have been released at this time. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the crash to contact the Kansas Highway Patrol.
