Homicide Investigation: 25-Year-Old Suspect Arrested in Deadly Pueblo Shooting

A homicide investigation is underway following an early-morning shooting that left one man dead in Pueblo on November 1, 2025.

At approximately 2:24 a.m., officers responded to ShotSpotter alerts indicating 15 rounds fired near Acero Avenue and Anasazi. Multiple 911 callers also reported that someone had been shot.

When police arrived, they found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity will be released by the Pueblo County Coroner’s Office after family notifications.

Detectives from the Crimes Against Persons and Crime Scene Investigations Sections launched an immediate investigation. They later identified 25-year-old Darian Cocilo as the suspect. Cocilo has been arrested and booked into the Pueblo County Detention Facility on charges of First-Degree Murder.

Authorities believe this was an isolated incident and say there is no ongoing threat to the public.

This marks Pueblo’s 11th homicide of 2025, compared to 17 during the same period last year.

The investigation remains active as detectives continue gathering and analyzing evidence.
