Folsom Woman Dies in Fatal St. Tammany Parish Crash
A tragic two-vehicle crash in St. Tammany Parish claimed the life of 39-year-old Rachel Bitter of Folsom on Monday evening, October 27, 2025. According to Louisiana State Police Troop L, the crash occurred around 6:25 p.m. on LA Highway 25 near Sweet Olive Lane.
Investigators say a 2015 Ford E250 van was traveling southbound when, for reasons still under investigation, it crossed into the northbound lane and struck Bitter’s 2013 Cadillac ATS head-on. The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles.
Emergency personnel responded quickly, and Bitter was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. Despite efforts to save her, she later died. The driver of the van sustained only minor injuries and declined medical treatment at the scene.
Authorities have not yet determined what caused the van to enter the opposite lane. Toxicology samples were collected as part of the standard investigative process.
Louisiana State Police continue to investigate the crash, urging drivers to remain alert and avoid distractions on the road. Bitter’s death marks yet another tragic reminder of the importance of cautious driving. The St. Tammany Parish community mourns her loss as friends and family remember her kindness and spirit.
