Fatal Shooting in South St. Louis Leaves Woman Dead; Victim Identified

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Police are investigating after a woman was shot and killed in South City during the early hours of Sunday morning.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers from the First District were dispatched to the 4400 block of Minnesota Avenue around 1:29 a.m. following reports of gunfire. When they arrived, officers discovered a woman who had been struck by gunfire. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities later identified the victim as Esha Boo. Details regarding her age and the events leading up to the shooting have not yet been made public.

The case has now been assigned to homicide detectives, who are working to uncover what sparked the violence. At this point, no arrests have been made, and police have not released any suspect information.

Community members expressed shock and sadness following the deadly incident. Neighbors described hearing multiple gunshots and expressed concern about rising violence in the area. Some residents have urged city leaders to increase security measures and improve safety within their community.
