Driver Arrested in Crash That Killed Three Teens in Glasgow

The Glasgow Police Department (GPD) has obtained an arrest warrant for the driver involved in the October 17th crash that claimed the lives of three teenagers.

According to investigators, the suspect was driving at a high rate of speed along North Jackson Highway when he failed to stop at the intersection with Veterans Outer Loop, colliding with another vehicle.

Authorities say that immediately after the crash, the suspect fled the scene on foot before later returning. Officers determined he was manifestly under the influence of an intoxicating substance at the time of the collision.

On Friday, Asa R. Howard was arrested by the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Barren County Detention Center. He faces multiple serious charges, including:

  • Three counts of Murder

  • Assault, 1st Degree

  • Three counts of Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree

The Glasgow Police Department continues to lead the ongoing investigation, with additional updates expected as the case develops.
