NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas – Police in North Richland Hills are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning, leaving one person dead and another hospitalized.

Authorities report that officers were dispatched shortly after midnight to the 8600 block of Airport Freeway following calls of gunfire. When they arrived, officers discovered two individuals who had been shot.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders, while the second was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The condition of the surviving victim has not yet been released.

At this time, investigators have not identified the victims publicly, pending family notification. No information has been shared regarding a possible suspect, motive, or circumstances leading to the incident. Detectives worked through the early hours, collecting evidence and speaking with potential witnesses.

Residents in nearby neighborhoods reported hearing multiple gunshots before officers arrived, with some describing the noise as “rapid” and “alarming,” prompting several 911 calls.
