Dallas Police Identify Victim and Suspect in Brutal Motel Attack

DALLAS — Authorities have released the names of both the victim and the suspect involved in a deadly attack that took place Wednesday morning at the Downtown Suites motel in East Dallas.

The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Chandra Nagamallaiah. Police say Nagamallaiah was found inside the motel after officers responded to reports of a violent assault. Despite emergency efforts, the victim did not survive.

Investigators quickly identified and located a suspect in the case. 37-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez has been arrested and formally charged with capital murder in connection with the killing. Dallas police have not yet disclosed details regarding the motive behind the attack, though officials have confirmed that no additional suspects are being sought at this time.

The incident has shaken the East Dallas community, as neighbors and motel guests expressed shock over the violence. Police have assured the public that this was an isolated event and that there is no ongoing threat to the surrounding area.
