Sebring Police Officer Under Investigation for Vandalism at Local Saloon
The Sebring Police Department has completed an investigation involving a department officer in connection with an incident at the Blue Lagoon Saloon, 4120 US Highway 27 North, Sebring, Florida. The department emphasized its commitment to transparency and accountability while sharing details of the case.
On Friday, July 25, 2025, a motorcycle parked outside the saloon had its rear tire deflated, and a valve stem cap was stolen. Security footage revealed three individuals on the saloon’s front porch at the time: Dakota Bond, Korttnee Winksi, and Sebring Police Corporal Zackery Thompson. Video shows Bond deflating the tire and removing the valve stem cap while Thompson observed and communicated with Bond during the incident.
Following the investigation, the State Attorney’s Office received charging documents. Both Thompson and Bond face potential charges of Culpable Negligence, for putting the motorcycle owner at risk of injury, and Petit Theft, for taking the LED valve stem cap.
Cpl. Thompson has been placed on administrative leave during the ongoing criminal proceedings. The department will also conduct a Professional Standards Internal Affairs Investigation after the State Attorney’s review.
The Sebring Police Department stated that actions of this nature do not reflect the values of the department or the integrity of the majority of officers, and reiterated its commitment to transparency, accountability, and maintaining public trust.
