MONROE, La. — Authorities are investigating a triple homicide that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at a residence on Grammont Street, near the city’s public works department.

Monroe Police responded around 2:30 a.m. to find three victims — 26-year-old Jaborris Simpson, his 2-year-old daughter Jhersi Simpson, and adult male Jamal Bosley — all fatally shot in the head.

17-Year-Old Girl Fatally Shot in Chicago Alley

Authorities have identified 17-year-old Gabriella “Gabby” Arellano as the teen found fatally shot in an alley on Sunday morning, October 26, 2025.

Chicago Police responded around 10:18 a.m. to reports of an unconscious female in the alley near 110th Street and Mackinaw Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found Gabriella with two gunshot wounds to the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are reviewing video footage showing Gabriella walking with two males shortly before the shooting. Investigators say the incident occurred out of view of the cameras, and no one reported hearing gunshots. The area previously had #ShotSpotter monitoring, which had been discontinued by city officials.

Calumet Park Woman Charged in Fatal I-57 Hit-and-Run

CHICAGO — Illinois State Police have charged 25-year-old Qyeenie E. Neal of Calumet Park in connection with a deadly hit-and-run crash that occurred earlier this month on Interstate 57.

According to authorities, the crash took place around 4:38 a.m. on October 12 in the southbound lanes near 112th Street. Investigators say a Honda sedan and another vehicle collided in the right lane, prompting the Honda’s driver, 42-year-old Antonio Antenez-Espinoza, to exit his vehicle. Moments later, he was struck by a passing Nissan SUV that fled the scene.

Antenez-Espinoza was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following an extensive investigation, state police identified Neal as the driver of the Nissan. She was arrested on October 22, and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office later approved a felony charge for failure to report an accident involving death.

Neal remains in custody at the Cook County Jail, awaiting her first court appearance.

Man Fatally Shot Outside Hawthorne Home After Attempting to Help Assault Victim

Authorities Identify Remains Found in Rutherford County as Missing Man

Authorities have confirmed that human remains discovered earlier this month in Rutherford County belong to 58-year-old Ricky Watson, who had been missing since June 2025.

On October 14, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2800 block of Poors Ford Road after a passerby discovered what appeared to be a human femur. The bone was turned over to the North Carolina State Medical Examiner’s Office for testing and identification.

A subsequent search of the heavily wooded area on October 20 led investigators to locate additional skeletal remains. Two days later, the state medical examiner positively identified them as those of Ricky Watson.

Watson was last seen around 2 p.m. on June 20 walking into the woods near his home, according to a neighbor. When he failed to return, his family reported him missing the next morning, prompting an extensive multi-day search covering hundreds of acres.

Deputies say no foul play is suspected in Watson’s death, though the exact cause remains under review. Authorities expressed condolences to the Watson family, who endured months of uncertainty before receiving confirmation of his fate. The investigation remains open pending final autopsy results.
