Body Found in North Minneapolis Parking Garage; Victim Identified
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead inside a vehicle in a North Minneapolis parking garage on Thursday afternoon.
Police responded to a report shortly before 1 p.m. at a garage located on the 2200 block of Golden Valley Road, where officers discovered an unresponsive individual inside a parked vehicle. Emergency personnel confirmed the person was deceased at the scene.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the victim as Getwild Dreb. Officials have not yet released the cause or manner of death, noting that a full autopsy and toxicology testing will be conducted.
Police taped off the area for several hours as crime scene investigators processed the vehicle and surrounding garage. Detectives interviewed witnesses in the area, though no arrests have been announced.
Authorities emphasized that the investigation is in its early stages and did not immediately clarify whether foul play is suspected.
Community members gathered near the garage expressed shock at the discovery, saying the area sees heavy foot traffic and frequent use of the parking facility.
