Authorities Identify Two Women Killed in Minneapolis Crash with Fleeing Carjacking Suspect

MINNEAPOLIS — Authorities have released the identities of the two women who were killed in a violent crash Thursday morning involving a fleeing carjacking suspect.

The victims have been identified as Marisa Casebolt, 25, and Liberty Borg, 25, both of Minneapolis.

According to investigators, the deadly crash occurred after a suspect in a carjacking attempt led police on a pursuit in north Minneapolis. The suspect’s vehicle collided with the victims’ car, causing fatal injuries. Casebolt and Borg were pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say the suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, was taken into custody following the crash.

The Minneapolis Police Department described the incident as a “profound and devastating loss,” noting that both women were young members of the community with bright futures ahead of them.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the carjacking and subsequent collision.
