66-year-old Woman , Critically Injured After Being Hit by Alleged Drunk Driver on Long Island

A 66-year-old woman was left critically injured after being struck by a pickup truck in East Rockaway on Friday evening, October 24, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

The crash occurred around 5:59 p.m. at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Denton Avenue, police said. The woman suffered severe trauma after being hit by a 2024 Chevrolet pickup truck.

She was rushed to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Authorities identified the driver as Adrian Raghunanan, 26, of Queens, who was found to be driving while intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Raghunanan was arrested and charged with Felony Vehicular Assault and Driving While Intoxicated. His arraignment was scheduled for Saturday, October 25, at First District Court in Hempstead.

The incident remains under active investigation by Nassau County detectives.

E-Bike Rider Killed by Suspected Drunk Driver in Long Island Crash

A 28-year-old man was killed early Saturday morning, October 25, when a suspected drunk driver struck his e-bike in Melville, according to Suffolk County Police.

Authorities identified the victim as Joseph Melendez, of Wyandanch, who was riding a Fly Wing gas scooter northbound on Bagatelle Road around 1:06 a.m. when a 2018 Subaru Forester made a left turn onto Eastbound Express Drive South and collided with him.

Police said the driver, Jennifer Kirkpatrick, 24, of Melville, was found to be driving while intoxicated and was arrested at the scene. Melendez was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead.

Kirkpatrick sustained minor injuries and was treated at Huntington Hospital before being charged with Driving While Intoxicated. She was held overnight and scheduled for arraignment in First District Court in Central Islip.

Both vehicles have been impounded as part of the ongoing investigation. The Major Case Unit is asking anyone with information about the crash to call 631-852-6553.

Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of 19-year-old Rinneau Perrineau, who was stabbed in broad daylight on Lavender Hill in Battersea earlier this week.

Emergency services, including London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, responded immediately. Photos from the scene showed multiple police cars and ambulances, as well as a cordon stretching across Beauchamp Road and Ilminster Gardens.

Rinneau, known affectionately as “Ren” by family and friends, was treated at the scene for stab wounds and transported to hospital in critical condition. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he died on Friday, October 24.

Authorities in Hamblen County are investigating a tragic incident after two people were found dead Thursday night in what investigators believe to be a murder-suicide.

According to the Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a home on N. Morelock Road in East Hamblen County around 9:45 p.m. after receiving a report of a possible shooting. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a man and woman inside the home, both shot and unresponsive. A firearm was located on the floor nearby.

The victims have been identified as Dennis Chandley, 69, and Diana Chandley, 66. Investigators believe Dennis Chandley shot his wife multiple times before turning the gun on himself. The sheriff’s office said the couple had been in the process of getting a divorce.

“Deputies cleared and secured the scene, and detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division were called to conduct the investigation,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Sheriff Chad Mullins offered condolences, stating, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of those affected by this tragedy.”

The investigation remains ongoing as officials continue to gather evidence and interview those close to the couple.

63-Year-Old Nauvoo Man Killed in Walker County Motorcycle Crash

A tragic motorcycle crash in Walker County on Thursday evening claimed the life of a 63-year-old man, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

Officials identified the victim as Roger D. Naramore of Nauvoo, Alabama. The collision occurred just before 7:30 p.m. on Alabama Highway 5, approximately five miles north of Jasper.

Authorities reported that Naramore was riding a Suzuki VZ800 motorcycle when he collided with a Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by 32-year-old Kayla House. The impact proved fatal, and Naramore was pronounced dead at the scene despite rapid emergency response efforts. House was not injured in the crash.

Senior Trooper Gregory Corble is leading the investigation and said no citations or charges have been issued at this time. The ALEA Highway Patrol Division continues to analyze evidence—including skid marks and vehicle positioning—to determine how the collision occurred. Toxicology testing, a standard procedure in fatal crash cases, will also be conducted.

Highway 5 was temporarily closed Thursday night as investigators examined the scene and cleared debris. Traffic was rerouted for several hours before the roadway reopened.
