Man Accused of Luring Men on Dating App, Charged with Murders

LOS ANGELES (TCN) — A Los Angeles man has been charged with multiple violent crimes, including two murders, after allegedly luring victims through an online dating app.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, 34-year-old Rockim Prowell is accused of orchestrating a series of deadly encounters over several years.

On July 20, 2021, prosecutors say Prowell met 51-year-old Miguel King after the two connected online. Prowell allegedly shot and killed King before stealing his car. Investigators later found King’s remains in the Angeles National Forest on August 14, 2021.

Nearly two years later, on August 21, 2023, 53-year-old Robert Gutierrez reportedly arranged a meeting with Prowell. Gutierrez was reported missing two days later, and while his body has not been recovered, authorities say evidence links Prowell to his suspected killing.

Another victim came forward on February 22, 2025, alleging that Prowell bound him, beat him with a baseball bat, and ran him over after he escaped, leaving the man with serious injuries.

Authorities arrested Prowell last week, recovering Gutierrez’s vehicle inside his garage.

Prosecutors announced Prowell is charged with two counts of murder, attempted murder, two counts of carjacking, second-degree burglary, and assault with a deadly weapon. Given the multiple murder allegations, he could face the death penalty or life without parole if convicted.

District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman described the acts as “predatory” and praised law enforcement’s persistence in bringing the suspect to justice.

Decatur Man Charged with Domestic Violence After Stabbing

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — The Decatur Police Department has arrested a man in connection with a stabbing that occurred during a domestic dispute on Wednesday afternoon.

According to authorities, Morgan County 911 received a call at approximately 1:33 p.m. on September 10, 2025, reporting a domestic disturbance at a residence located at 2025 Danville Park Drive SW. When officers arrived, they discovered an adult male suffering from a stab wound. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, and the victim was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. His current condition has not been released.

Following an investigation, police identified 24-year-old Kelan Lang as the suspect in the case. Lang was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Morgan County Jail, where he was charged with second-degree domestic violence. His bond has been set at $5,000.

Officials have not released additional details regarding the relationship between Lang and the victim, nor have they provided further information about what led to the altercation. Police say the case remains under investigation, and more updates will be provided as they become available.

Investigators quickly identified and located a suspect in the case. 37-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez has been arrested and formally charged with capital murder in connection with the killing. Dallas police have not yet disclosed details regarding the motive behind the attack, though officials have confirmed that no additional suspects are being sought at this time.

In Loving Memory of Isaiah Lewis Whitlock

On September 7, 2025, our beloved grandson, Isaiah Lewis Whitlock, age 15, of Ramsey, MN, tragically lost his life in a motor vehicle accident in Coon Rapids. While riding his dirt bike, Isaiah was struck by a truck near the intersection of Northdale Blvd NW and Marigold St NW. Despite the quick response of first responders, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Isaiah’s passing has left our family shattered. Our lives are severely diminished without his bright spirit and youthful energy. He was deeply loved by all who knew him, and his absence will be felt forever. Authorities Release Identity of Victim in Deadly Sumter County Crash.

The Sumter community is mourning the loss of Melinda Jene Horne, 45, who tragically lost her life in a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday afternoon in Sumter County.

Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker confirmed her identity, sharing that Horne was the sole occupant of the vehicle. The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred when a 2003 GMC Yukon traveling north on Beulah-Cuttino Road veered off the right side of the roadway. Although the driver attempted to steer back onto the road, the SUV overturned, left the roadway once again, and came to rest in a ditch. Horne sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
