Officers from the Michigan City Police Department responded to the scene and discovered the body of a deceased adult male, later identified as 31-year-old Gregory Wyse of Michigan City.

    Preliminary investigations revealed that Wyse was walking south on Indiana State Road 212 when he was struck by an unidentified vehicle traveling in the same direction. After the impact, the vehicle left the scene. Investigators processed the area and collected evidence, which temporarily closed the road while they conducted their investigation.

    The Michigan City Police Department has not released further details due to the ongoing investigation. However, they have confirmed that there is no known threat to public safety.

The caller reported seeing a man outside, later identified as Jacob Prichard, who warned the witness he had a gun before leaving the scene.

    Prichard then traveled to the home of Jaime Gustitus, where he fatally shot her inside her condo in the 1600 block of Honey Tree Place. Authorities attempted to contact Gustitus by phone, but received no response, prompting further investigation.

    The connection between the victims was later revealed to be their shared employment at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Investigators believe Prichard also killed his wife, Jaymee, though the exact circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear.

    Around 4 a.m., Prichard drove to the West Milton Municipal Building and parked in the facility’s safety exchange zone, where he took his own life. His wife’s body was discovered in the trunk of his vehicle when officers arrived at 5:08 a.m.

    Authorities are working to determine Prichard’s motives for the killings and why he chose the municipal building as the site for his final act.

    Community members have expressed grief over the deaths, remembering Jaymee Prichard as a devoted mother and active member of the community, and Jaime Gustitus as a promising young professional with a bright future.

    The second victim, a 28-year-old male, was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and was transported to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.

    Following an investigation, police arrested Trice on Monday, October 27, 2025. At the time of his arrest, officers recovered a loaded handgun.

    Trice has been charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, and related offenses. The investigation into the incident is ongoing as authorities work to gather more details.

    A resident of the home, David Scott Jones, 58, was found holding a handgun. When confronted by deputies, Jones complied and released the weapon, before being taken into custody without incident.

    Initial investigations by the Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigations Division revealed that Jones and the victim had been involved in a verbal altercation just before the shooting.

    Jones has been charged with multiple offenses, including:

    • First-degree murder

    • Second-degree murder

    • First-degree assault

    • Second-degree assault

    • Use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence

    • Possession of a loaded handgun

    He is currently being held at the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown pending a bail hearing. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to gather more information.
