Emergency Crews Respond to Morgan County Crash, One Sent to Hospital
MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. — Emergency responders were dispatched early Thursday morning following a crash along Highway 431/231 near the Tennessee River Bridge in the Lacey’s Spring area.
According to HEMSI spokesperson Don Webster, the incident occurred around 7:07 a.m. and involved at least one person who became trapped inside a vehicle. Deputies with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, along with EMS personnel and local volunteer firefighters, were among the first on the scene to provide aid and manage the situation.
Webster confirmed that one individual sustained injuries and was transported by HEMSI ambulance to Huntsville Hospital Trauma Services for treatment. The injuries were described as non-life-threatening, though the patient remains under medical evaluation.
Huntsville Fire & Rescue and Decatur-Morgan ambulances were also dispatched to assist in stabilizing the crash site and supporting patient care. Traffic was slowed temporarily in the area as crews worked to clear the roadway and ensure safe passage for morning commuters.
Authorities have not released additional details about the cause of the crash or whether more vehicles were involved. The investigation is ongoing, and updates are expected as officials review the circumstances surrounding the collision.
