Tucson Police: Couple Found Dead in Suspected Murder-Suicide
TUCSON, Ariz. — Police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide after a couple was found dead inside a home near North Swan Road and East Glenn Street on Tuesday.
According to the Tucson Police Department, officers responded to a welfare check at the residence, where they discovered Michelle Ohnesorgen Johnson, 47, and Michael Martinez Duran, 48, both deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
Detectives believe the incident was the result of an ongoing pattern of domestic violence, though the investigation remains active. Authorities have not indicated that anyone else was involved and say there is no threat to the public.
Neighbors told police they heard loud arguments coming from the home in recent weeks. Records show law enforcement had been called to the residence previously for domestic disturbances.
The Pima County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct autopsies to confirm the exact cause and manner of death.
Tucson Police are urging anyone experiencing domestic violence, or who knows someone at risk, to seek immediate help. Resources are available through the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233.
