Wife of China Grove Police Lieutenant Arrested for Fatally Stabbing 9-Year-Old Son
China Grove, N.C. — Authorities have arrested 50-year-old Wilma Medina-Ehanrie on charges of murder after she allegedly fatally stabbed her 9-year-old son, David Medina-Ehanire.
Police confirmed that Medina-Ehanrie, the wife of a China Grove police lieutenant, was taken into custody at the family’s residence following the tragic incident. Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures, but David was pronounced dead at the scene.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has been called in to assist with the case due to the family’s connection to law enforcement. Officials say Medina-Ehanrie is being held without bond as the investigation continues.
No motive has been released at this time.
“This is an unthinkable tragedy that has shaken our community to its core,” a law enforcement spokesperson said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the child’s loved ones and everyone impacted by this devastating loss.”
