Viral Video Exposes Alleged Double Standard After Autistic Man’s Fentanyl Overdose
A woman has gone viral online after exposing what she describes as a glaring double standard in the justice system following her autistic brother’s death from a fentanyl overdose.
In the viral post, she claims her brother obtained the fatal fentanyl from Alyssa Canfield, a conventionally attractive white woman who admitted to dealing drugs. Despite this, Canfield allegedly avoided charges by agreeing to work as a confidential informant. Instead, police arrested Montez Forest, a Black man her brother had never even met.
The woman refers to the leniency shown toward Canfield as “pretty privilege turned plug,” arguing that her looks and informant status allowed her to escape accountability while shifting blame onto someone else.
She further highlighted what she described as a troubling pattern in Canfield’s past: multiple hit-and-run crashes, involvement in helping a minor run away, and being present during drug-related shootings. According to her, none of these incidents led to meaningful legal consequences.
By contrast, Forest’s record shows repeated police attention—each encounter resulting in an arrest or court appearance. The family believes this shows how racial bias and privilege intersect in the criminal justice system.
The video has sparked heated debate across social media, with many users echoing the family’s frustration and demanding answers about why accountability appeared one-sided in this case.
For the grieving sister, the viral moment isn’t about attention—it’s about exposing disparities she says cost her brother his life.
