Kericho Woman Killed by Spouse in Shared Apartment in UK Following Domestic Dispute
A young woman from Kericho County, Kenya, who had travelled abroad in search of better opportunities, has tragically lost her life in the United Kingdom.
Linner Sang, a former teacher at St. Catherine’s, Kesses, was killed on Sunday, September 7, 2025, following a domestic dispute with her spouse at their shared apartment in Reading, UK.
Authorities report that Sang was stabbed multiple times by her 29-year-old partner, who is now in police custody as investigations continue.
A Life of Promise Cut Short
Before relocating to the United Kingdom in late 2023, Sang was dedicated to shaping young lives as a teacher in Kenya. Once abroad, she pursued her passion for service and care, graduating and taking up work as a Social Care Worker.
Her spouse, who followed her to the UK not long after as a dependent, has been identified as the suspect in the fatal attack.
Shock and Grief Across Two Nations
The tragic news has left Sang’s family, friends, and former colleagues in both Kenya and the UK devastated. Her colleagues remembered her as a hardworking, kind-hearted, and determined young woman who was committed to making a difference wherever she went.
The Kenyan Diaspora Media described her death as a heartbreaking loss, particularly for the Kericho and Kesses communities who knew her as a bright, promising figure with a passion for education and care work.
Call for Justice and Support
The case has drawn attention to the struggles faced by many women in the diaspora navigating new lives abroad, while also underlining the devastating impact of domestic violence.
Community members in Kenya and abroad are calling for justice for Linner and for stronger protections for women living abroad.
