Remembering Patrick Joseph Lennon (1996 – 2025)
The Bay Ridge community is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Patrick Joseph Lennon, who passed away unexpectedly on September 6, 2025, at the age of 28. Patrick’s life, though far too short, was a radiant example of kindness, faith, and love.
Patrick is survived by his devoted parents, Michael and Marie Lennon, his siblings Lindsey, Elisa, and Michael, his two grandmothers, and an extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who cherished him deeply. His infectious smile, caring heart, and unwavering loyalty touched countless lives—from lifelong friends to strangers who quickly felt like family in his presence.
With a spirit free of judgment, Patrick welcomed others with open arms and compassion. His happiest moments were found in nature, especially at his beloved creek in the Catskill Mountains, where he embraced life’s simple joys.
As the eldest sibling and cousin, Patrick naturally embodied the role of nurturer and guide. His deep love for people led him to a career in teaching, where his patience, dedication, and compassion shaped and inspired young lives. His students, family, and community alike will carry forward the lessons of kindness he so naturally taught.
Patrick’s final evening was spent in the company of those he loved most—his family, his beloved Cate, and his faithful dog, Tully—listening to Irish music under the stars. His parting words reflected the essence of his heart: “Love you, take care of my dog!”
Patrick’s life was a testament to St. Francis of Assisi’s wisdom: “Do few things but do them well. Simple joys are holy.” His memory will live on as a shining example of love, simplicity, and faith.
