Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Putty Road Claims One Life, Leaves Another Critical
Hunter Region, NSW — A tragic motorcycle collision has left one man dead and another fighting for his life after two bikes collided on Putty Road in Garland Valley, around 90km west of Cessnock, on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the crash site at approximately 3:20 p.m. on September 7.
Upon arrival, officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command found both motorcycles had collided. A rider in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not yet been formally identified.
The second rider, a 58-year-old man, sustained critical injuries. NSW Ambulance paramedics treated him at the scene before he was airlifted to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
A crime scene was established, with the Crash Investigation Unit conducting a forensic examination. A report will be prepared for the coroner’s office.
