Victim Identified in Portsmouth Shooting That Left One Dead, Two Injured
Police have identified the victim killed in Saturday night’s triple shooting on George Washington Highway as Sweetjug Ealey.
According to the Portsmouth Police Department, officers were called to the 4500 block of George Washington Highway around 11:22 p.m. on November 1 after reports of multiple gunshots. When they arrived, officers found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds, one of whom—identified as Jugg—was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A third victim was later found to have left the scene before police arrived and was also being treated at a nearby hospital. Investigators have not released information about the circumstances that led to the shooting, and no arrests have been made at this time.
Authorities continue to canvass the area for witnesses and surveillance footage that might help identify the shooter.
