Wilson Man Charged with Murder Following Deadly Shooting
A Wilson man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a recent deadly shooting, according to an arrest warrant obtained by the Wilson Police Department.
The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Malik Davonta Andre Chapman, is accused of “unlawfully, willfully, and feloniously killing another person with malice aforethought,” as stated in the warrant.
Investigators say the offense occurred in Wilson County, where detectives developed probable cause to secure the warrant for Chapman’s arrest.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether this incident is connected to the homicide on Starship Lane that occurred late last night. Police continue to investigate both cases to determine any possible link between the two shootings.
As of Saturday, Chapman remains in custody while awaiting a bond hearing. Officials say additional details, including the identity of the victim and the circumstances leading to the shooting, will be released as the investigation progresses.
The Wilson Police Department is urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward as the community reels from the latest act of gun violence.
