Victim Identified as Sonja Marie in Montgomery Halloween Night Shooting

Authorities have identified the woman killed in a deadly double shooting that occurred on Halloween night in Montgomery as Sonja Marie. The tragic incident unfolded late Friday in the 3800 block of Haynes Lane, near Perry Hill Road, around 10:35 p.m., according to the Montgomery Police Department (MPD).

Police and fire medics responded to reports of gunfire and discovered a man and woman suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Sadly, Sonja Marie was pronounced dead at the scene, while the male victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Investigators believe the shooting was domestic-related, and preliminary findings suggest that one of the wounds may have been self-inflicted, though authorities have not confirmed which victim was responsible.
