Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred inside a convenience store earlier today.
According to law enforcement officials, officers responded at approximately 4:15 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the 4300 block of Paseo. Upon entering the store, officers discovered an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.
Preliminary findings indicate that a verbal altercation involving multiple individuals escalated into gunfire inside the business. Investigators are working to determine the events that led to the deadly confrontation.
Police reported that two persons of interest were detained at the scene as detectives began their investigation.
Crime Scene Investigators processed the location for evidence while homicide detectives conducted a thorough canvass of the surrounding area, speaking with potential witnesses and reviewing available surveillance footage.
