One Dead, Several Injured in Overnight Shooting at Visalia Restaurant

VISALIA, Calif.  — A night out in downtown Visalia turned violent early Saturday when gunfire erupted inside Sebby’s, a restaurant near Main Street and Garden Street. Police confirmed that one person was killed and several others were injured in the incident.

According to authorities, Visalia Police officers were dispatched to the area shortly after receiving multiple reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers discovered several victims suffering from gunshot wounds following what investigators believe began as a fight inside the restaurant.

Emergency responders quickly transported three individuals to a nearby hospital. Tragically, one of the victims later succumbed to their injuries, while the other two remain hospitalized in unknown condition. Officials have not yet released the identities of those involved, pending notification of families.

The restaurant and surrounding area were blocked off overnight as detectives and crime scene technicians gathered evidence, interviewed witnesses, and reviewed nearby surveillance footage. Residents in the busy downtown district reported hearing a series of gunshots followed by the sound of sirens flooding the area.

At this time, police have not confirmed whether any suspects have been taken into custody or provided details on a possible motive. Investigators continue to piece together the circumstances leading to the shooting, which has left the community shaken.
