Fatal Crash in Doña Ana County Brings Down Power Lines, One Dead, One Injured
EL PASO, Texas — A deadly single-vehicle crash early Friday morning left one person dead, another injured, and power lines down in Doña Ana County, authorities reported.
The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 5 at the 9700 block of Corona Road near Organ, New Mexico. First responders from the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Rescue arrived to find two people involved in the crash.
One victim was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment. Despite life-saving efforts at the scene, the second person was pronounced dead.
The crash also brought down nearby power lines, prompting authorities to warn the public to avoid the area while emergency crews and utility workers managed the situation. El Paso Electric was notified and dispatched crews to assess and repair the damage.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation as law enforcement works to determine the circumstances that led to this tragic accident.
