73-Year-Old Man Struck by Vehicle at Florissant Bus Stop Dies from Injuries

FLORISSANT, Mo. — A 73-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle while waiting at a bus stop in Florissant on Thursday morning, authorities confirmed.

According to Florissant Police and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 9 a.m. on southbound North Lindbergh Boulevard at Cougar Drive. Witnesses reported that the man was seated at the bus stop when a Ford Explorer, traveling at a high rate of speed from the Schnucks Plaza, crossed Lindbergh and struck him. The vehicle continued before coming to a stop in the AT&T parking lot.

Emergency responders quickly arrived on scene. The victim was airlifted by Survival Flight to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Despite efforts to save his life, he later succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities identified the driver of the Ford Explorer as a 24-year-old who remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Witnesses, including Minnow Jones and Santana A. Contreas, administered lifesaving aid until paramedics arrived. Police expressed gratitude for their efforts and extended condolences to the victim’s family.

The incident remains under investigation by Florissant Police and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
