Who is Skye Valadez? Musician Under Scrutiny After Charlie Kirk Assassination
Skye Valadez, a transgender musician and artist from Ogden, Utah, has come under public scrutiny following the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. While law enforcement has not named Valadez as a suspect, her online activity and music projects have drawn attention after a track titled “Charlie Kirk Dead at 31” surfaced on SoundCloud.
Valadez, who uses she/her pronouns, is in her early twenties and lives in the Ogden–Riverdale area of the Salt Lake City metro. She has been active on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest under the handle rainy_skye021. Online posts highlight her interest in underground music and political commentary.
Her creative work has been tied to projects with radical themes. One band she follows, God’s Finest Scalpel, released an album titled Death to American Scum, featuring tracks critical of American conservatism and organized religion. Valadez herself reportedly uploaded politically charged songs to SoundCloud, including “Charlie Kirk Dead at 31” and “Charlie Kirk’s Death Isn’t Enough for Me.” These tracks, archived months before Kirk’s killing, are now being widely circulated online.
Her work has divided opinion. Critics say her lyrics glorify violence and hatred toward conservative figures, while others argue they fall within the tradition of provocative, satirical protest art.
As the FBI continues its investigation, public debate over Valadez’s music and possible connections to Kirk’s death highlights the intersection of art, politics, and extremism.
