Student Taken Into Custody After Injuring Teacher at Northview High School

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A student was taken into custody Thursday morning after reportedly assaulting a teacher at Northview High School, according to officials with the Special School District.

The incident prompted an immediate response from emergency personnel and school staff. As a precaution, Northview, Ackerman, and North Tech schools were placed on lockdown while authorities assessed the situation.

Florissant Police confirmed that the teacher suffered a cut to the arm during the assault. The teacher was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Officials say the injury is not life-threatening.

The student involved was quickly taken into custody by Florissant police. No additional injuries were reported.

By late morning, the lockdown was lifted after law enforcement determined that there was no ongoing threat to students or staff.

In a statement, the Special School District praised the rapid response of those involved: “We are grateful for the swift actions of our staff, District security, and local law enforcement, whose immediate response helped ensure the safety of our school communities.”

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the student or indicated whether charges will be filed.
