Hartselle Man Arrested After Armed Robbery Incident
HARTSELLE, Ala. — A 24-year-old man has been arrested after police say he held a victim at gunpoint during a robbery late last month.
According to the Hartselle Police Department, the incident occurred on Tuesday, August 26, in the parking lot of a business along Highway 31 NW. Authorities said Keilyn Alex Speegle of Hartselle entered the victim’s vehicle, pulled out a handgun, and demanded money.
Investigators reported that Speegle forced the victim to hand over cash before fleeing the scene. Following the investigation, police were able to identify him as the suspect. Evidence gathered during the case supported the victim’s account of what happened, officials said.
A warrant was issued for Speegle’s arrest on a charge of first-degree robbery. On Wednesday, he was taken into custody, booked into the Morgan County Jail, and granted a $30,000 bond.
The case remains under investigation.
