17-Year-Old Charged with Murder in Girlfriend’s Shooting Death
A 17-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence in connection to the shooting death of Kimira Wilson, according to the Arkansas State Police.
Authorities identified the suspect as Makya McClain, who was taken into custody and transported to the Jack Jones Juvenile Facility in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
Investigators have not yet released details surrounding what led to the fatal shooting, but the incident remains under active investigation by state police. Officials confirmed that McClain and Wilson were in a relationship at the time of the tragedy.
Law enforcement officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a shooting, where Wilson was found suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead.
Prosecutors are expected to determine whether McClain will be charged as an adult. Additional information, including a possible motive, has not been released.
The Arkansas State Police have asked anyone with relevant information about the case to come forward as the investigation continues.
